Help with Oklahoma trip PLEASE
Kansas boy here. Live just north of the state line.
Thinking about a winter fishing holiday on Tenkiller or Eufaula the second weekend in January of 2011. Going to take my boys out (9,5,2 yrs old). A heated crappie dock would be good on Mama. They're gonna get new ultra lites for Christmas and I'm looking to drown a few minners / jigs.
I noted there is a heated dock on Eufaula at the state park. Anyone have any reports / info?
Noted that Tenkiller has trout fishing below the dam - possible alternitive if the Crappie are not biting. Is there a dock on Tenkiller?
Mama wants to stay in a hotel - any good 'uns in that area?

Belle Star Marina on Eufaula is one of my favorites! I almost always catch some really nice crappie there. the town of Eufaula is pretty close by and has a few hotels there you can stay in.

Trout fishing below the Tenkiller dam can be good. Caught my biggest Trout last January, it was about 17 inches long.

Now, just looking for a hotel.

I have been reading about stripper fishing. Can you do that from the bank below the dam this time of year?

You can striper fish from the bank, but them seem to hold in the deeper water down at the mouth of the river. Where it dumps into the Arkansas River.
You may want to look into Greenleaf for some crappie fishing they have but on dock, but it does produce fish this time of year.
There are fishing docks at sixshooter, burnt cabin, elk creek I believe. Sixshooter, elk creek on east side of the lake, burnt cabin west side.
