IkenI & Redge & whoever else is interested-Crappie camps are a lot of work and most of that work is being done the more senior members of the group-and speaking for myself, it is too much work for this ole fart! Then add in the weather problems we seem to almost always encounter, coupled with the lack of fishing success, it’s not a lot of fun. The fellowship and food is GREAT but the rest of the effort is not very rewarding. And some of us older folks have health challenges that prevent myself (and possibly others) from enjoying what we used to enjoy. I would love to see the camps continue but without comfortable accommodations (like a vintage airstream), I will be unable to participate.

I think crappie camps are being over thought and should be as easy as everyone bring their own stuff as if their camping by themselves. Have had several like this over the last few years and several attend. The CDC camps that have been going on aren’t geared towards my schedule or I probably would’ve came to a few. I can make a fri-sun camp. Mid-week camps I can’t. I plan on having a camp next month and then one in the fall too. Anyone can come. Just going to be fishing all day and then meeting up at night to shoot the bull and eat. Food doesn’t have to be anything over the top or just go to a restaurant. I’ll post when and where I’m going when I make that decision. Come if you want. I’m thinking Gibson or Hugo next month. Fall I’m thinking a new lake I’ve never been to. I still need to get to Gaines some too and that can be an option.
