Have some relatives on the water today. We kind of got together and tried to figure out where might be the best after this front. Will let you know how they do

The weather was the straw Didn't think there would be anything to stop me from coming. So to please my Dr's and wife, I'm canceling out. <*)}}}><

Sorry so late responding, been away from the computer for a while. A whole lot of it was weather and hoped to get out locally some. Things should be getting rolling, luck to all. And above all be safe! DK

They ended up with around 25 today and 14 keepers. Said they caught them around 12 ft deep in 17 fow. They were anchored over brush using drop shot rigs Said they tried jigs tipped with shiners but caught all there keepers on straight shiners and niblets. Water temp has dropped several deg since last weekend and they are releasing some water. Lake has dropped about 6 in. I would concentrate on the Arkansas river arm toward coon creek. Lots of brush in that area and that's where the majority of the shad are concentrated now. I'm gonna stop by tomorrow evening so see you guys then.

Pulled the camper out this evening and got it set up. Take the boat out in the morning.

Found out today they are dropping the lake down to 1008, which is 2 ft below normal to clean out boat ramp and cove at coon creek.

Well, the predicted 22 degrees with 50+ mph winds on Friday pretty much killed Crappie Camp, and I can’t blame a soul that left. That kind of weather in a tent is pretty miserable. We are the only ones still at the campgrounds.
Today was the only good day, and it was a beauty in the afternoon.
6 keepers with a lot of 5-6” dinks. All on minnows spider rigging. Wouldn’t touch a jig.
The main event though was the 12 lb blue that took a 1” minnow on 4lb line. Had to follow it around for 20 minutes or so with the trolling motor before it gave up. Fun times!

It’s about time. Pretty much unusable except for high water levels.
