I like the way your thinking on the backup lake!! Thanks for all you do DB.
The 2017 Oklahoma Crappie schedule includes the Spring Camp in late March, the Annual Summer Family Camp the first weekend in June and the Fall Camp in October. We have decided to drop the Winter Camp. The lakes we are looking at for Spring Camp are Pine Creek, Sardis and Wister. Lake Eufaula for Summer Camp and Kaw, Kerr and ?? for Fall Camp (Suggestions?) We are going to try a different approach next year and have a Primary Lake and two backup lakes for each Camp. About two weeks before the Camp date we will verify the Primary Lake's current and projected condition and make the determination to proceed with the Primary or switch to a backup lake. Comments or suggestions on improving our Camps?

I personally would like to see lakes that we haven't been too or only been to once. Sardis is at the top of my list. Kaw has had such a crappy year I worry about it producing the next however many years. Kerr, Wister and Pine Creek sound great. Like the sound of Dripping Springs too. Papa and I have a trip planned to Bell Cow within the next few weeks and can scout it for possible camp. I'd love to have one at Draper but no camp grounds with RV hookup.

Kaw will be okay. Thousands of 2 to 4 in crappie. Just had a bad weather year. If anything it will be better than ever if we can get some decent weather.
I agree about going to new lakes. Let us know how you do on Bell Cow. I've driven past it many times on the way to a hunting buddies ranch and thought about fishing it but never have. Course, after watching Barry Stokes show on it you may have some company! It appears to have decent campgrounds so might make a good lake for camp.

Skiatook is a tough lake for crappie. I know a lot of people that fish there and catch a few but no real big fish. I know a ton of municipal lakes you can catch 300 a day about 6 to 9 inches long but rarely a good fish. Kind of comes down to quality or quantity
