Seriously tho. Its hanging out and fishing with your CC buddies for the day or the weekend, depending on your schedule. It would be a good way for you to meet some folks if you dont know any.

Fishers...Great answer ! ..... lepcur.. please join us at Spring Camp on Skiatook Lake in April. I've included a couple of previous answers to your question that describe what Oklahoma Crappie Camps are all about.....

“Theproblem we have seen in the past in both the spring and fall camps as far asfishing goes is the weather. It's the time of year when we have one front afteranother which some are big rain makers that raise the lake levels. It is whatit is. I'm all about fishing new spots and exploring new options for our camps. It's not all about fishing which we all enjoy, but it's about friends, family, and rubbing elbows. If we are trying to draw straws and pick a lake that's onfire as far as fishing goes that's like drawing straws and hoping for the best.So far we have drawn the short straw during our spring and fall camps mostly. Iwill say I'm ready to build a fire and sit around it again with mybuddy's........Ranger”
“I agree with Ranger inwhat the Camps are "it's about friends, family, and rubbing elbows".The Camps were started primarily to get Crappie fishermen together to discussCrappie fishing and to meet each other. At this point, the only criteria forchanging to a secondary lake are Lake conditions, such as extreme high waterlevels and/or extreme weather conditions at the Primary Lake. I realize thatthe term "extreme" can be interpreted several ways, however, the CampCommittee will always make decisions in the best interest of the folks thatattend the Camps. The quality or quantity of the fishing, while great if theCrappie are biting, is not a factor for consideration in changing lakes. Makingthe decision to switch lakes will not be easy, due to advance campsite andmotel reservations. Looking forward to Spring Camp in late March, 2017.....dave“

I'm looking at twin points and check-in on Friday isn't until 6pm. I wonder if the site is empty and you have it reserved for that night if one is able to set up prior to 6pm.? What's does a 'typical' play by play for the weekend look like?

    Thanks,

The local lake "Host" will normally let you go ahead and set up your camp when you arrive if there was not a previous camper.
Friday Evening, IkenI at site # 46 is grilling hot dogs for everyone. Bring your favorite hot dog meal side dish or chips to share. (This group will eat anything!)
There may be a fish fry on Saturday evening if someone volunteers to organize it. This Camp is pretty low key, so feel free to visit the campsites and meet other Crappie fishermen.
Warning: we do have two "Border Jumpers" from Kansas camping with us....they don't bite too bad....let me know what your camp site number is.........dave (Camp site #47)

I just booked site 48, I'm still trying to convince the wifey to join me and the ex to let me get my little boy early so he can have more time at the lake. Either way I'll be there Friday night, I may just have to spend the morning on Saturday picking him up instead of fishing with him. He and I will both be there Saturday afternoon. I haven't decided if I'm bringing my fur babies yet, it can get a bit cramped in the canoe with a spaniel constantly wanting to be swimming haha. I'm excited to make your acquaintances and hopefully catch some crappies. And as far as the Kansans, I just moved down in late 2012 myself from 11 years at McConnell AFB so I'm probably more like them than you southern folk. In my many travels I've found fishing to be a nearly universal language.

I just saw some bug spray and thought by April we may be needing it this far south. I'd better add that to the packing list, especially for my little guy, he's pretty fair.

One rule about all crappie camps. Wives and girlfriends are welcome, but not both😆
