Any suggestions on Campgrounds?

Common sense isn't always that common!
Here's a quote from an Oklahoma camping website. Don't know how old, or how valid it is.
"RV sites are nice and lake views were common, the park is spread out along the lake shore. Quarry Island area is off by itself on a peninsula with 8 full hookup sites and great lake side views, sites like #1 are absolutely beautiful. Cabins are also located on Quarry Island. Victor area is located on a twisty road about 4 miles from the main park area, the "north side" area in Victor has nice lake view sites #22 & 23 are nice and #45 has a private door side view. Ward RV area is only open Memorial Day-Labor Day, the sites are not paved, and it is more or less an over flow area. The Dam Area has 8 sites and is secluded, yet close to the main highway 270 above"
I drove by the Victor area a couple of years ago and it seemed real nice. I do recall it was a ways down a twisty county road from the dam area. I know I drove by Wards Landing but don't recall even seeing the campground there. I do think both of those sites have a decent launch ramp. Quarry Island is sort of a unique area and, as I recall, has 6-8 cabins and a few full hookups near the cabins. I believe the rest of the camping area at Quarry Island is further down into the island. I don't know what Quarry Island is like now but 55 years ago it was heavily trafficked in the late night by the drinking, pot smoking (they called it Mary Jane back then) and other unsavory types. The dam area sites are below the dam on the river.

What is involved in the Crappie Camp? Do you have to have a boat?
A boat is never required - there will be plenty of em there. The main camp in June each year has some organized activities oriented towards the fishermen and families. The other camps mostly are just eat, sleep, hangout and fish, fish, fish. Come on over!
