Crappie will be tough to impossible in the river section of the lake due to the current coming down the river. Be time to bring the lawn chairs and sit around the fire.....Ranger

Don't know if it rained at Ft. Gibson like it did in the city over night and this morning but if so look out. Hopefully the water will go down over the next few days.

Here is some useful info on the lake.

You can call the number I gave you to see what the lake level and generation schedule is. The last time we had heavy rain upstream was June 1. It was 16' above normal. I have a Fortex 101 Lb thrust trolling that I had to run at 85 -90 lbs just to hold still up in the river. In addition there were 30 foot trees flowing down the river into the lake. We will have a better idea by Wednesday.

I have a call in to the Lake Ranger at Ft. Gibson to check on the possibilities of a release from the upstream lakes. Will post her comments as soon as I receive them. The lake level is normal this morning........dave

You can bet that Grand Lake is going to dump everything it can as fast as it can. Expect the levels to rise on Gibson fast. I've seen it way too many times.

I talked to the Ranger at Ft Gibson Lake this morning and she reported that the Lake Level is .70 above normal and the gates are closed. Upstream Lake Hudson is .76 ft above normal and the gates are closed. Grand Lake is 4.27 ft above normal. The Lake Ranger indicted that they were not expecting a large discharge from Grand Lake, however, her office did not control discharge from Grand Lake. As good Crappie fisherman we are always prepared to prevail over nature's challenges. On another note, personal checks are acceptable to include in the envelope when you pay for your camping or parking fees. The weather forecasts are great for the Camp and we have about 30-35 folks that have indicated they will camp overnight or daycamp. The Oklahoma Fall Camp will be GREAT!!!!!!
