Can always count on Whisperer to find em, hoping to finally have a chance to hit a good spawn and now it looks like ⛈☔️ Next few days. May just break out the rain gear and join the happy ducks!
Nice job Whisperer

Sorry for the late posting but I have been very busy with work and the boy running track.
I will have to agree with Reaper on the fish cleaning. On Wednesday me and my buddy cleaned 39 and Reaper and his buddy cleaned 35 in half day trips. We had 30 females and 9 males in my boat.
On Thursday I fished solo and had 35 females and 1 male. I had a 2.17 and a 2.03. My biggest 7 weighed 12.55 lbs. on Winganon Baits official scales. I turned 35 of them back, had to keep 1 because she didn't live.
On Friday me and a buddy had 50 all females, 2 had spawned out. Biggest fish weighed 1.58. We released all 50 back alive to catch another day.
All caught on Timmy Tom Weed Less Jigs heads and Mikes Custom Baits. Blue/white lime/char and pearl/char were best colors. Everyone I saw was catching fish. If you wanted to catch small males fish shallow and if you wanted to catch females fish deep.
I am not too sad to see the rain, the fish will get a chance to spawn in peace. I wish more people would just keep what they needed to eat and turn the rest back.
Odie
First pic is a 2.17 and a 2.03 from Thursday. Other 2 pictures all weigh over 1.50 from Friday

LOL, (like I'm going to stop because of rain) the rain gave me a reason to beat the crowds we've been seeing. There were still around 15 boats out in it today. I will say that Bobby and I were probably the only ones out there NOT fishing the banks. Caught around 30+ and kept 16.

Now that was a great post Doug! Thanks for making the effort to include those pictures of rare Oologah cows- and thanks for sticking your neck out with a catch and release sentiment. It has taken me a while but I have come to enjoy throwing back more than I keep. Not trying to preach here fellers- just adding my quiet voice to the silent minority. I eat crappie about every week- just no longer push fillets on my family and friends.
I fished Blue Creek as well, from 3pm to about 7pm. The wind was really blowing hard at that time, but we were able to find some nice males in about a foot of water towards the back of the cove on the south side. The wind combined with the number of boats and bank fishermen, made it a lot less enjoyable than we were hoping. We caught our fish on minnows below slip corks.
I hear ya! I found out after a bit of handing out fillets who appreciates them and who doesn't. And iffin someone appreciates them, they get more, just sayin... . I Pack my fillets in water to displace any oxygen in the bags so I dont ever get freezer burnt. I can get 3 + years out of them that way. I finally got my freezers low enough to keep fish the last few trips. After yesterday (see Keystone report) I am back to "take a pic and toss em".
