i quit fishing the lake when it came up and started testing out the navigation channel. I've been finding a few of the oxbows are holding quantity and quality.
Fished brush in Blue Creek today. Found some fish at 12 feet but most of them were to small to keep. Water temp was 62.
I fished Will Rogers Friday. Caught LOTS of 5" fish. only had 3 nice fish. Everyhthing on the graph was at 20' and down. I did not even see a shad above that mark. Water color was fair, 10".
Got out today from 4 till sundown. Caught 17 keepers and another 15 dinks. Caught everything in 15 to 19ft. Had several around 1.5 or better. Water temp was 60. Caught em on jigs.
At least you got out and found some! Good to see some other reports on here. Been thinking this has became my own blog!!
After a year of being out of commission my boat is water ready again. I've been itching to hit the big O forever. Bank fishing, well, it's bank fishing. Sometimes you do sometimes you don't. I like my chances better when I can move around. Think I will be our friday and saturday. See if there's any brush left in my old spots and try some new CORPs piles. Will definitely be reporting back with results!
I fear no fish
Boy! That's a long haul for us but still wanna know how you do! Keep us posted and happy Thanksgiving!
Well my boy finished cross country season and I put my deer hunting gear away. By the way my son was the 4A STATE CHAMPION and I shot a nice KS buck with my bow. Now for the report so Cricket George wont be on me!!
I fished Friday from noon until 430. I caught 35 and kept 14 very nice fish, biggest weighed 1.89. I started out at Winganon bridge and didnt get a bite, water color was bad, 2-3 inch visibility. I moved south and water color improved to 6-8 inch visibility. I caught the fish on brush piles in 17-20 fow, fishing 14ft. Only could catch a few on each pile then had to move. Black/char Bobby Garland baby shad on an orange Crappie Pro head was the ticket.
Went out Sunday after church and ran into Kevin aka Crappie Whisperer. He had 11 in his livewell when I got there. We fished side by side the rest of the afternoon and had a good time. We were even further south down the lake and water color was still only 6-8 inch visibility. The fish were still in brush but in 13-16 fow and we were fishing 11-14 feet deep. Had to keep moving from pile to pile. Same color setup for me. I kept 8 from 1-430, dont know how many Kevin had but would say we had over 20 between us.
I went back out today from noon until 4. Same color setup and fish were in brush13-20 and I fished 11-15 feet. I kept 8 nice fish biggest was 1.5. By the way water temps over the 3 days ranged from 42 on Friday to 48 today. The winter pattern is here. It should only get better.
