I have been fishing talala at least twice a week for over month. Blue green algae has been there the whole time. It is not real bad but it is there. Brush piles have moved. I put several on the south wall in the winter but they seem smaller now. Fishing has been slow I think mainly because of water clarity. Two days in a month of fishing in double figures. The ones I hav caught were good fish in mostly 4-8 ft. I haven't fish many brush piles this year just focusing on the stumps. I think I am going to move over to the cove west of Allen's point.

Fished thurs. Wanted to try the corps piles on the north side of Kite hill for the first time, only found 2 piles. Caught one sand bass and 2 crappie. Fished about 3 hours. The piles were in 12-19 fow. Got about 4 hard thumps I didnt connect with. Spent a lot of time looking for the piles. It is possible the current moved some of those also, have never fished there before so couldn't say for certain.

I went yesterday and didn't catch crap...This was the first time I hit the big O this year, I usually don't start fishing there until mid or late July. Like everybody else say's I think the color of the water has to do something with it and I think the cooler water temp still has them up shallow. just IMO..

Was in Tulsa Monday and Tuesday night. Fished this lake a for a few hours last night and only caught sand bass. 17 in 3 hours. Pretty good size ones. I hardly ever eat fish so a fish is a fish to me. As long as I'm catching I'm good! I was in Hawthorne Bluff and wind was out of the South hard. Area was full of thousands of shad. Was fishing crankbaits.

How was the warer clarity? Is it clearing up any or still muddy? The ODWC weekly fishing report looked like a copy of the previous week . Wasnt really sure if it was accurate or it really is just like the previous week.

Fished solo today. Tried one spot and only caught a few catfish. Loaded out and drove to another spot. Found the fish hungry there. I went through a half a pound of minnows and caught at 25 sandbass, 10 catfish, and 16 crappie that I kept. Probably threw back 5 more dinks. Caught all but a couple of the crappie on jigs. Never caught a crappie vertical jigging today, had to cast to catch em. I let the jig sink to the bottom and then a super slow retrieve got the bites. Finessing the jig through brush or rock. Caught em in 10 to 14 FOW. Used a 1/16oz jig and licorice Bobby Garland baby shad.

Just happened to get off work yesterday around 4:00. Thought what the heck it's only 104 degrees, I'll go catch a few. Messed around a little bit and got on the water about 5:30. It was so hot I was sweating out pores I didn't know I had. It looked like a rain shower coming off of me. No wind what so ever, lake was like glass. Tried to cast and catch em like I did last weekend, but they weren't havin it. Thought it was just too dead calm and too darn hot. Sun finally fell and I started double pole jiggin over some brush piles. Started getting some bites, ended up with 5 good keepers and missed another 5 strong hits. Holding 2 poles is not my specialty, little slow on the hook set sometimes. Gotta train that right hand to strike back a little quicker. Never know what the crappie want from day to day. Just gotta try something different until you get bit. Had a good time fishin for a couple of hours, even though it was brutal when I first got there.

If things don't pick up soon it sounds like the tournament next weekend is going to be tough. I for one haven't been able to get out due to a broken trim motor on my boat. It has been back ordered for over a month but it's finally on it's way and will be here tomorrow. I hope I can get on them before the tourney.
