Just got back from a couple of hours in the vada point area and only had 2 bites. Sure am ready for the to start biting.
Did anyone find fish on the banks this past week? I am itching to see my bobber go out of sight on something other than pond perch.

Bout time to give up on the crappie for me and get ready to drag up some walleyes myself
caught 6 yesterday mostly in 3-5 fow around stumps. 12 on saturday same pattern. Water is geting ready to rise again so there goes whats left of fishing in talala creek.
How do you fish for the walleye this time of year? How deep and what are you looking for on the locator? I have caught them by accident a few times but now finally have a boat and I would love to find those tasty eyes in oologah.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- had a few hours monday evening ,spent a little time in mid lake area before the water heads back up ,they were catching a lot of sand bass trolling , tried shallow water temp was 74 , no luck shallow went to some 10 to 15 foot water , took home 15 split between males and females , i would also like to try some of that walleye fishing any tips apprecieated --- luck to all and God bless
I havent had done it much but when you troll for walleyes your crankbait must be bumping the bottom the whole time! Troll every point you see! We use to troll Thunderbird alot for saugeye and crappie in May and June! The crappie were more depth specific not touching the bottom, but the saugeye you were bumping all the time! Speed and depth is very important! EB
ciller and rbc . not tryin to ignore you guys just don't get on much lately .first wait till they quit running water out then hit flats out of spencer or blue creek . use a B/B with a crawler rig or like eufaula boy says get a crankbait on bottom with leadcore or longline it if you have too .its not too deep there anyway.
I live close to Vada Point with the boat ramp being about 400' as the crow flies. I haven't had time to fish recently but should be able to start back up in a month. I understand this last rain brought the water up past the turn around so if you head to Talala Creek, make sure you back down the ramp. It's no fun trying to back up the hill with a boat on the back when the water is up like it is. Looks as if there are enough Talala Creek fishermen to hold a cookout sometime in the future. We might try to organize one if there are enough interested.
Anyone live close by? Also looking for someone in the area that rides. I've got a Fatboy/Soft tail that likes to get out on occassion.

Crop e man thanks a lot. That info on the walleye will come in handy later I hope. So guys is the spawn over till next spring on oologah? This is my first year to fish there and it seems like the water level rises faster and stays high more than other local lakes. Probably need to be smarter than the average bobber watcher to catch em here.
