Made it out Friday and Saturday, and you would have thought it was springtime. It was a weekend for the tourist. There were more people than I cared to see up on the "O" this weekend. More zebco 33's and clip bobbers at 4ft. Lol! Please come back cold weather! Anyway, couldn't get to my spot where I had been catching, so I moved on over to another hole of mine, and found them crappie waiting for me. No boats or other bank fishermen, just me and the crappie. I ended up catching around 40-50, keep 19, and gave another couple 5 or 6 good ones. I was fishing a sharp point with brush in about 22 fow. They were sitting about 12-15 ft deep, and I caught them using orange/cht. jigs. I didn't start fishing until 4pm and stopped around 6pm. The couple I gave the fish too stumbled up on me by sure accident, and I gave them those fish to stop them from telling others. Lol! However, I went back saturday morning and they were all over my spot, along with a hand full of boats who showed up later. Didn't catch as many on sat. but i ended up with 10 nice keepers, and a hand full of throwbacks. All in all not a bad weekend! One pic is of total catch, and the other is of the biggest ones.

I was out Saturday on the green/white Fisher Spectrum boat. We put in at Spencer Creek. I spent most of my time playing with my new 798CI SI Humminbird fishfinder. I found a lot of fish suspended at 40 feet in 50 feet of water just south of the Winganon Bridge. They wouldn't bite though. Looked like they were fairly large fish on the image. May have been catfish, carp, who knows.

I also found an old road bed just south of the west riprap.

I am on the hunt now for the brush piles and ledges you guys all talk about.

    Good Luck to all.

I went out all day on Saturday and only caught 3. I tried brush from 12' to 30' and never found them. Tried minnows and every jig in my box....just couldn't get them to bite. It was still a beautiful day on the lake....first sunburn of the year

First let me say thank you to Odie for his hospitality. We really didn't start catching them until 3 o'clock, we had fished some places that Odie had been catching them and caught a few but had to contend with some other boats. When we decided to look for other places and we began to really catch them, 75% of our fish came from 3 different places. When I cleaned yesterday morning we had about 25 fish that were 1.25-2.5 lbs.(Odie there were some more big ones hid in that first ice chest). I have now had the privalage of going with 2 crappie fisherman that really know there stuff on Oolagah. The first time was with BigGeorge in July in the hot summer using the side imager and we had some fish up to 2lbs then, and Saturday with Odie in the dead of winter hunting schools of shad and had the same quality of fish. We are lucky to have such good fisheries in Oklahoma like Oolagah, Eufaula, Kaw, Texoma, Ft.gibson, Wister etc. (Doug would never tell you but he wore them out! We had 93 and I bet he caught 50 of them. I have never fished blue and white with a white head until Saturday, but when Doug caught about 6 in a row, I went to hunting in my tackle box quick!)LOL Thanks again man I had a blast!!! EB

Top jig..we call it the "Angel jig". Deadly on Oologah..I always have one tied on a rod.

G-Man, that is the color of blue we were catching them on. I love the looks of the sickle hook.
