Would like to say thanks to deerhunterodie for offering to help me at sunnyside ramp. I fished 4 spots from FHS map this morning 8am, at winganon bridge, and talala creek area with no luck. The Northeast wind blew me off the lake at 11am. Deerhunterodie, if you ever need a fishing partner or help with boat or brush let me know, Thanks again.

Oologah can be a beast when the wind gets up!!

The Noreaster wind is one of the worst for me to get a bite on Oologah.

I'm retired and trying to learn how to catch crappie other than springtime. So would be good to meet other fishermen. I live in Broken Arrow and fish Oologah and Eufaula (north end). I fished fountainhead yesterday, 3 keepers 1 dink all on electric chicken 12 to 16' deep. Is a great fishing dock and getting better.

We'll get together sometime this spring/summer. I'll show you everything I can think of.

    Default Oologah Report

Managed to get back out again today. The wind was a little strong so we had to fish some different places today than I fished Thursday. We got out the corp brush pile map from 2007 and decided which ones would give us the best protection from the south wind. We launched the boat about 1230 and marked 4 piles that I have never fished before. The first pile was the best. Just like last Thursday the fish were on the outer edges of the pile. The pile was in 18 fow and the fish were about 14 feet down. Same color pattern, orange head with pump/char beavertail and blk head with blk/char beavertail. No moving the jig other than the motion of the waves. We caught fish on all 4 piles but the first one was the best. In the 3rd pile the fish were down in the middle of the brush but we only caught about 5 fish in it. All total we caught about 35 fish and kept 19. Did talk to 2 guys and they had very similar results. They said they tried shallower piles and deeper piles but were only able to catch them around piles that were 16-19 feet. Any one else been fishing?
