I wish Rdjj would teach me how to rotate pictures dang it! Gonna try one more of my old boat- last time out the Dink Dingy boated 216 crappie so I trained her well for her next captain!
Fished Tuesday with Crappie Cooker and caught 142 including this 15" slab who fought like a sand bass. It seems to me that as the water has cooled to 77* we are seeing lots of fish fight harder and the thump is often harder too! Love fall crappie fishing when all you guys are out in the woods chasing Bambi and her Dad. Mary also caught her second black crappie on Oo so I commemorated the event with a picture. I tried jigs for 30 minutes and never got bit so I helped her finish off a pound of minnows in 10-22 fow. Our larger fish came from the deeper water but we only averaged about one good fish for every 3 dinks. Yesterday Dennis and I fished from 9-7 and caught 156, keeping 2 limits of mostly 11-12" fish for his church fish fry ( we probably cleaned some of the fish that Mary and I turned loose on Tuesday but hey- they had their chance!) again we caught our best fish in the deepest water we fished- up to 25'. A few 13" but fat fish for a change where I thought our Tuesday fish were kinda narrow. We probably hit about 20 piles from Winganon south and caught at least one on every pile. Switched to jigs for the last hour and they loved em- oologah Orange with no slobber or nibbles or nothin. It was nice to get away from those "Arkansas Jigs" for a change and soak some hair and chenille! My apologies to Crappie Hunter 918 for this post as it always made me a little crazy when Odie would catch a hundred on the day I caught 10. I'm sure my own humbling reality check is coming soon but for now I'm enjoying the ride!

I caught lots of fish today. 7-16 fow. Hair jigs dominated over plastic and Arkansas jigs. I sold some for a pretty high price today on my mini marina! If I could continue doing that, I could quit being a Dr! Haha I will post a pic soon.
When you post that picture would you include one of the hair jigs? I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours!
138 yesterday but we had to work a little harder at it. I planned on jig fishing all day but broke down and joined the minner soakers after my wife thumped me for a couple hours- went back to jigs later when the minnow supply ran low. After feeding all night during the full moon their bellies looked like most were ready to spawn. Water temps were 78-80 and the bite was really light- hoping these cooler days will bring back the jig bite soon. Caught most of our fish in 15-18 fow- the 9-10' piles that were producing so well last week were slow. We kept 12 over 12" for the backyard pond overstocking program and released the rest for you guys to catch after deer season!
