Good counsel Fishers. Thank you. By the way they named my new grandson Fisher Dee (family name) , rejecting you excellent but awkward suggestion!

Not sure George, I launched at sunnyside and most of the area west of the ramp was froze over. Wanted to fish Talalla creek but winters from years past taught me it would be froze over too, at least to the second point coming in from the main lake. With the week before getting down to zero i would bet the shallow water on the east side of winganon would be iced over. Just a guess though, maybe the high winds and warmer past few days have helped thaw the ice.
Thanks .They're young and the boat is small. If they need to they can muscle it in somewhere. I gave em some options and a few guys to pm for info etc. but they will, I'm sure rely upon their own testosterone and brilliance to figure it out!
I was to hit the lake on sat they are calling for West winds at 15 I have a 14 ft v bottom doesn't handle windy conditions very well any suggestions on an area to launch and fish to give us some cover. Any help would be appreciated
talala creek is a good launch spot and offers great west wind protection.
Two of my sons went hunting Mr. Whiskers on Wednesday and goose egged even tho they reported finding some ledges holding monsters and dropping their bait right on them. I heard rumors of a big shad kill due to the near freezing water and wondered if those slimers are just laying on the bottom holding their bellies and belching from time to time after the feast. Anyone seen evidence of this?
Haven't been to Oolagah but that's what killed it at Eufaula bout 3 weeks ago. The bite is D-E-A-D there.
