I thought you guys might like this one too. This was the sunrise at Oologah Saturday morning.
I fished the south end of the lake from 6 until dark last night. I hit the same brush piles in and around 10 foot of water with minnows. The fish were still near the bottom and they were hungry. I went home with 34 keepers over 10 inches and caught some pigs tonight. Here is a picture of the biggest ones with a 5 gallon bucket for reference.

Wow! Good shot. Nice piggies too. How far south are you fishing?
The picture looks like its taken from near the redbud ramp looking toward the north. Am I right?
You are correct sir! I focus on the south end of the lake since it's closest to the house (I live in Owasso). I launch at Redbud and fish basically from Blue Creek south on both sides of the lake. There are probably 150 corps brush piles within that area. I don't seem to ever need to look elsewhere.
How do you figure out the location of those brush piles?
Im with you, i have primarily fished from redbud being between skiatook and collinsville. Ive tried at spencer and one or two other places but caught more fish on the south end this year. I havent been in month or so since it got so hot. I have no idea what the pattern would be now, before I was catching them on sandy banks in 2 to 6 fow.
I have a GPS/Sonar unit on my boat that has the coordinates of all of the brush piles loaded in it. You can get the coordinates from the corps of engineers website or you can stop by the corps office across from Hawthorne park and they will put them on an sd card for you. I suppose any GPS will work, even a hand held one. But you need a fish finder to confirm you are on the brush pile.
I drive over the brush and when I see it on my locator, I throw out a marker bouy so I know where it is at all times. Then i just fish in and around it. Some of them have fish, some of them don't. I have learned that certain ones always hold fish this time of year so I fish the same 10 or so every time I go. I'm sure there are lots more with fish in them I just start at the ones I know have fish and never make it beyond those. I am fishing in 10 feet of water right now.
The good news is barring some crazy drop or rise in the lake, the fish won't move until this fall. I'll be catching 30 or more a night for the next 3 months. Everybody talks about the spawn and how great it is but it doesn't compare to the summer time bite. I think winter is prime time too but I'm always hunting so there's no time to fish.
WHOA! Meatdragger, save some for the rest of us!
Glad your on em'. Ripem while you can.
Hey, tell me a story!

It was my understanding that the corp was no longer loading peoples SD cards due to possible infecting their computers.

Thanks for the heads up. I will try down south next time.
