I am planning on going out this weekend. I am going out on the south end of the lake. Does anybody have any suggestions on where I should start my fishing. This is my first time out on the lake this year. i have been noticing all the fish being caught about 2feet from the bank.

Crappie Wall Hanger
I know of some guys catching them in the cove around Hawthorne park next to the damn. I have been fishing all over the south end the last 2 weeks. Basically, anywhere I have found structure in 4 to 8 feet of water I have caught fish. Others are getting up on the banks in popular spawning spots but I tend to avoid those areas since they tend to be crowded.

Went to Spencer creek yesterday and the lake was way up, 4-6 feet I think. Its a muddy chunky mess. I think it may have put an end to the good shallow fishing. Didn't even get a dink.

I fished it 3 days this past week, the fish were shallow and biting great until it rose, then nothing but a few white bass dinks shallow, and nothing mid and deep. Unless you hear a good credible report I would go elsewhere.

It's only 5'+ above normal. I've caught some nice fish in the same water. They should be fairly close to where they were before the rise. Dinobot, there should be some fish where you and I were. If not, give me a call.

Thanks to all the fishermen who saw my injury and jumped in to help me get my boat on the trailer and headed for the ER. There are some really good people out there fishing, and it was clearly evident that there were some really nice people in Talala creek last weekend. Thanks to everyone that jumped in to help a brother out!

In short; I slipped on some very sharp rocks in one of the coves and when I fell, I got a big deep cut and a piece of rock embedded in my leg. I made a turniqet from my stringer, and with the help of friends made it to the ER just fine. I'm thankful to the unknown people at Talala creek ramp that helped me out.
