Last week on Friday I fished from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Area 51 Marina. Caught well over 60 from the bank, kept 34. Mix of males and females. Survived the 60 mph winds and rain, the fishing only got better after the storm rolled through.

Haven't been to hickory point because of low water but elm point has been doing pretty good on black/chart under a court. Last week. people walking out on old road were doing pretty good with jig about 10 inches below cork. Water is up some more so 12 inches below cork should be ok. Still see a lot of people at crowder. Rock creek still looked less murky than coal creek and several were fishing there.

Thinking about taking kids Camping at the big lake this weekend. Just wondering if the recent run-up in water level will keep the fish off the bank? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

I went out and fished from 4:30-dark yesterday probably caught 20 or so kept a mess for supper. Man there good from the lake to the grease. Caught a few on the bank still 1-2ft deep. Most were caught in 9-10 foot on main lake banks. EB

EB what are "main lake banks?" Are you targeting specific areas in the mid lake area and staying away from creeks? We fished Tuesday and didn't do well at all. We fished areas where we had been catching a lot of crappie when the lake was low. We fished jigs under corks 1 foot deep, and double dipped all the way to 14'. Just curious to where to look.

Main Lake banks are the banks on the lake itself, all the creeks and river arms are muddy right now and you can catch a few but I do better fishing the cleanest water I can find. Target banks that have little pockets or coves down them most of the fish are stil spawning or post spawn phase. EB

Camped at arrowhead. drove around and did not see many people fishing. The most peopel I saw was around Crowder boat launch. Saw maybe one decent fish caught off bank.

fished Sunday morning at Area 51, left 3 in Joe's "community" basket. Nothing huge though. Later took kids here, only got some dinks.

water level was up 4.5' in the past week. Really curious as how long does it for the fish to get back to the bank after a good rain. Maybe fish will be back again before the next round of rain.

These crappie were caught on Lake Pauls Valley and they weighted between 2-3 lbs each. Not sure who caught them and not sure about the lake, but it might be Longmire lake just east of Pauls Valley.Name: Pauls Valley Crappie.jpg
