Yes the ones at Belle Star were caught with a jig and cork
And that's all I got to say.

Couldn't talk my favorite fishing partner into taking the long drive to Eufaula, so I had to go alone. Got 43, but only 26 good ones, nearly all males. Something tells me the Big Mamas will be coming in this next week with the full moon. Would do pics, but I didn't quit until after dark.
These are the size of the keepers from yesterday, which were 11.5 to 14 inchers, mostly 12-12.5. All but three of the 43 that were caught were wearing tuxedoes. DOW was 1-3 feet. Minnows, blue ice, and electric chicken all worked well. A twitching retrieve worked best with the jigs. BTW, stopped at Eufaula Lake Marina (formerly Fountainhead) just to see what was happening. Most people were getting very few bites. There were two guys who had about a dozen, casting cork and black/chartreuse parallel to the bank with a slow steady retrieve.
Having trouble loading the pics.
Fishing from the dock here at Arrowhead I had 9 nice fish during the 1st 10 casts. Then at 7:30 they stopped just like flippin a switch. But it was fun while it lasted.
AMERICANS: Willing to cross a frozen river to kill you, in your sleep, on Christmas, totally not kidding, we've done it.
Finally talked Favorite Fishing Partner into hitting Eufaula on the way back from Skiatook. She tried to talk me into going to Carl Blackwell instead, using two reasons: 1. Less driving. 2. She never does any good at Eufaula. My reason for hitting Eufaula was that I smacked 'em on Thursday as well as several days before, and it was only going to be better, since we were nearer the full moon. Should have listened to MFP. The people who were fishing said it had been great in the morning, but lockjaw had set in. We fished 3 hours and caught six bluegills and three bass. Finally at sunset, the wife got a big male and lost 2. I got two and missed nine hits. Strangely enough, when I checked, the hook DID have a sharp point and a barb. Gave our fish to a couple of young fellas and headed home.
One good thing was that the Good Lord let the storm clouds roll past us before the lightning started popping.

Is anyone fishing or did the rain mess it up? They were on the bank last week. Did this rain shut them off?
