Fished yesterday hitting some new water and areas not previously fished in the last few days. I will say main lake water temps are 5 to 7 degrees colder than the creek arms. I caught a few about every place I tried but no numbers. Had 18 yesterday when I threw them back and surprised myself thinking I only had around 12 or so. I high point was while hung up in brush flipping my jigs around to get unhung I got bit hard and the bottom jig was broke off. My line took off like a tarpon was on the other end. Drag singing and after a few minutes of a hard fight on a 10'7" Pro Series Huckabee Rod up popped a 15 to 20lb Blue Cat which was foul hooked just outside the mouth. The interesting thing was he had a 12"-14" spoonbill in his mouth with only about 3"-4" of the bill sticking out. I was amazed and trying to get my phone out and take a picture since the cat was just barely hooked I guess I applied to much pressure and she pulled off. This was my second spoonbill I had ever seen in Eufaula with the other seen in Gaines Creek......Ranger

Just something for thought and opinions.. I have fished Eufala for almost 20 years and mostly all in the north end gentry and I 40 areas and over the past 3 to 4 years it does not seem to be the same quality of fishing. From Jan to May it seemed like you couldn't hardly go fishing and not get a limit or close to one. Anymore a man could fish those areas and almost blank out. It has definitely made me revert to fishing other lakes and not waste my time fishing the north end of Eufala. Is anyone else experiencing anything close to this or just me?
Headed to the big E tomorrow to bring home a mess of slabs. Will give a report
I live in Checotah lol don't be discouraged we are in the same boat. The north end can be tough fishing. EB

Any word on any of the creeks? Thinking about bringing the jon boat down either Saturday or Sunday.
Travis, if your kids are doing good enough and you can get away, you're more than welcome to join me and Bobby down at Hugo. I plan to fish the creeks up river. We're heading out early in the morning and probably heading straight for the ramp to do some exploring. I'm bringing the lights just in case we want to venture into the creeks overnight. There is room for you in the boat.
