Fished around the Crowder area yesterday evening with my 7 year old. On the water for about 2.5 hours and caught 3 keepers. Pulling jigs in 5 to 8 fow. Caught about 10 that weren't much bigger than the
jig! Black and pink was the color. I was using a BG minnow minder as I was out of beaver tails. Could of been the reason for the dinks.

Might have caught more but its more about him having a good time out there than catching fish!

Fished yesterday with my bud Brian. It was really windy with gusts above 30mph and hard to fish anything. The technique fished was dipping single jig around stumps and standing trees. We ended up with 24 keepers and had about that many short fish as well. We fished from around 8:30 til 1:30 or 2 then proceded to build brush piles from another days fishing and guiding. I had a blast even in the high winds cause it had been 2 weeks since I had been on the water after vacation out West with my Wife....Ranger

and windy too. I was out Tuesday and Wednesday and it really wasn't much fun. Yesterday I decided to go south to get out of the wind. Got there about 4pm and fished till 7. The thump was on! Single jigs dippin the summer pattern. They liked blue BG minnows the best but the big ones simply slammed Larrys black/pink Wasshoppah Slab Bug. One little 4" liked it too. It's now a favorite. Oddly enough, they wouldn't even look at Slab Bandits in several colors. Made the trip worth while. Brought home 20 from 11-15.5" - about the same number of throwbacks.

Is the Longtown area any good- looking to go there tomorrow...

Had 36 today, 30 1/2 day on Wednesday dippin standing timber! The fish are still shallow 3-5 ft deep. EB

Had 32 today from 8 til 2 dipping timber. WT was 88 fishing shallow early moving deeper later....Ranger
