Hey EB, I will be in OK this weekend and plan to fish pretty much all day Saturday and half the day Sunday my wife's family lives closer to the north end of the lake. Do you think I can have the same success in Gentry Creek or will it be worth it to drive down to Gaines Creek? Also which boat ramp are you guy launching from down there? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

    Default Weekend Report!!

Had a friend of mine come down to fish Saturday and Sunday!!! We fished out of his rig since my trolling motor is not back on my boat yet!! Saturday was cold and windy we managed to catch 34 keepers nothing of any great size!!! It was so windy we tucked in behind a bluff and fished the same 100 yd strtch of water just to get out of the wind!!! We fished 4-10ft in 8-16ft of water!! Sunday was a beautiful day!! We caught 52 keepers and few of them were 1.5lbers. We fished 10-14ft in 15-20ft of water!!! The shad were active as well when we seen them flipping we began to catch more!! The water temps. in both places were 48-54 degrees!! We even seen some 60 degree water in the shallow coves!! Good Fishing!! EB

    Default Nice stringer

we fished from 3/7-3/8 from about 4pm on saturday till about 5pm on sunday. Caught 50 nice fish, 8-10 were 2+ pounds. Most of the fish we caught in 5ft of water and we were slipcorking at about 3ft. The other fish we caught spideriggin brush piles. Mostly females, heading to spawning areas.

You might like Crowder Point campground. If you enjoy your privacy try to get a spot on the west side of Hwy 69. There is no sewer hookups on that side but there is water at each site. There is also a ramp with a gentle slope to it.
You might also try Juniper Point campground. Some one got a lease on it last year and he was really doing a lot of work on it and making some good progress. We haven't camped there yet but probably will. I don't think the ramps are as good there but am not sure. If you camp there there are some cypress trees that are VERY good to doodlesock.
Both of these places are now private.

You can purchase minnows in Crowder at two different places. If you need a boat ramp, we have one here at Arrowhead estates and its open to the public.

Good luck and if I can help in anyway, just let me know, I'm one of the locals.

Thanks. Have the crappie moved to the banks yet and whats the water temp. I think were going to start down by Crowder along 69 highway.
