My wife and I are looking for a nice cabin the weekend before geezer camp. I have never been there, but plan to take the boat and do some cranking. Are there cabins on the lake on the south end? Good areas around there for pulling cranks?
dkv, persimmon is # 12 and we are in #10 and #11 next to Persimmon. Also we have two folks that may be looking to share a cabin. Contact Crappie Jinks if you have room in your cabin.

A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.

Didn't get to fish much today. Wife and I slept in, then went for breakfast. Didn't hit the lake until around 11:00. Ran up to the north end to fish the creeks. Got tired of hanging up every 50ft(pulling cranks), so moved out to the mouth. Caught one decent black 11ft deep in 70fow. Still kept getting hung often. Caught one other decent black and countless bass. After losing two cranks, breaking a 14' trolling rod, the wind was picking up. Made for a rough ride back down to Carson Creek launch. Started raining while loading on the trailer. Sure wished I had a few days to fish. It's an awesome lake. Just tough to go out blind. Had a fella from the Stillwater area point me in the direction I went. Lake seems a bit low. Weird to say when you're used to fishing a lake that barely has any water over 20ft. Also weird to constantly hang up on trees 11ft down in 70+ fow. At least we didn't get completely skunked. Hope I can come back sometime when I can fish more. A few hours wasn't enough. Now we get to enjoy the line of severe weather moving through.
