Haven't been back since the week before Easter. Current level is 7' above normal and rising, with more rain coming. River was still coming over the slab at Smithville a couple of days ago. If they don't start letting some water out, it's going to hard to launch a boat on the north end.

Fished about a half a day today. Spent most of my time around Sand Springs Bend playing with some new electronics. Caught a few small males off the bank in some of the pockets, 1 14" female that still had eggs. Went back to the river, late. Caught 5 ranging from 13" to 15" in about 10 minutes from one spot, but had to come in before I could work any more areas. Fish were still on standing timber on the river channel, 10' to 12' deep in 20'+ water.

Water temp was 67deg. Water in the river is murky, main lake is clear. Still plenty of boats on the water, as well.

Dstreet- I don't think fish numbers are down on Broken Bow, it's just that weather and water levels have the fish patterning differently than normal. There was a record flood in 2009 that topped the emergency spillway for the first time ever. The fishing after the flood was as good as it had ever been.

I was fly fishing the Lower Mountain fork the day the rain started. They made us pack up and leave the cabins in Honobia. Its taken a couple of years to get that fishery back in order.
