Glad to see you posting! Good idea on the texoma thread.
In my effort to establish more of a presence of the forum down here in the southern part of our great state, I thought maybe a thread on what is happening on Texoma might entice some of you to head on down sometime?
I went out with Bobby Russell one day last week. We put in at Little Glasses and mainly fished the Big Glasses arm. Bobby showed me a number of brush piles and we did good early but, the bite slowed as the morning progressed. Forgot the total but, recall we had about a dozen in the livewell which we released.
I was impressed with the size of the fish with most over 11 inches.
Day before yesterday, we went to the Newberry Creek arm on the NE corner of the lake where Bobby again put m on some brushpiles with the same results. Had 17 by about 11 am when the bite stopped again.
I'm thinking the full moon and cloudless night skys have them feeding at night thru early morning then shutting down during the hotter part of the day.
Had a trip planned for yesterday for the far west end of the lake but, had to cancel and have not heard how my new partner did without me!
I'm hoping others that fish Texoma or other southern lakes will jump in here too.

Okie Bob, Lake Texoma is a really good Crappie lake it gets overshadowed by the striper fishing. I was down there 3 or 4 years ago, fished a crappiemasters tournament. We fished the little glasses arm down to Roosevelt bridge. The sloughs off the Wa****a river are dynamite for big slabs, Rock creek, Bell creek, House tops, cumberland, etc. Keep posting for us, we have kicked around bringing the CDC trail down that way maybe get some of those good TX fisherman in there with us. Wa****a River
LOL It wont let me put the name of the river. LOL
Okie Bob, great to see your post. My niece has a mobile home down there and I have been wanting to come down and fish, but know "0" about that lake. Keep it up. Dj
crappiepappa, that might be a hard sale.
But bed space should not be a problem when some never go to bed anyway.
