Border wars
Yep Tim, been making them for years, just didn't think about using them on crappie. Add a small white Uncle Josh fly flicker pork rind to it to provide an erratic tail action on the flutter and they should nail it,

No fishing for me for a few days. Way to cold and I have chores that need to be done. I am re-carpeting my smaller boat a 16' older Lowe crappie boat. It is an all aluminum boat and the carpet was installed before final assembly which means it has to come apart to do a proper job of replacing the carpet because the carpet is under the rivets. More work than I had intended but I am old school enough to want the job done right not just good enough. I have the front casting deck removed so far and ready for new carpet but that leaves an awful lot of boat left to disassemble. Being as I have to remove all of the outer deck skin of the boat any way I will upgrade the wiring while I have it apart. Somewhat of an ambitious project for a worn out old man but my grand pappy always told me that if I start a project and don't quit I will get finished.
Front deck of the crappie boat.
I managed to get two more components of the deck removed today. The seat assembly at the side console that holds the two transportation seats and the port side gunwall. I am afraid I greatly underestimated the project time. I think a minimum of 1 month might be closer to accurate.
I can see progress on the boat finally. This project is easily the most ambitious boat project I have ever attempted. Boats require maintenance and this one is 27 years old so I guess it needs to be done. While these aren't fishing reports they may encourage some to go for that project that seems overwhelming. Some of the foam in the floor is water logged so I will replace it before I put the floor back down. I am close to finishing the bow casting deck. See pic below
