There are 2 back ways in. I have been told that trees were dropped blocking both of them. Widow Moore has been one of my favorite holes for about 11 years now.

Fished Texoma today. My first boat trip since surgery. It was great getting on the water and I had no problems with discomfort. The fishing on the other hand left some to be desired. Fished deep, fished shallow, fished inbetween. Marked lots of fish but couldn't get a bite. Water temp was a steady 59 degrees. Murky water with approximately 1 foot visibility or less. It was great getting off the couch.

Thanks for the report. I figured it was about time they started moving in. Were they males? I haven't been down in a couple of weeks. Sounds like it may be getting close to stocking the freezer.

I am going out tomorrow on Texoma for a little exploratory fishing. I can't get any one to go with me so I guess it's a solo trip again. I have caught a few lately with lots of color to them in shallow water but no evidence of fanning on the tail at all so I am thinking I should be able to find fish near spawning areas assuming today's storms have not pushed them back to much.

While walking the bank lately I have noticed lots of shad in shallow water. I am not sure what that means if it means anything at all just something I noticed. I don't really have anyone to discuss it with as all my fishing buddies are much older than me and all are having serious health issues these days. I guess I need to start canvassing for a new fishing partner.

I have also noticed that except for bass tournaments there are very few people fishing my end of Texoma. In the last 4 days I have not personally seen anyone else crappie fishing Texoma. That does not mean that no one is it just means that I have not seen any. On the other hand it is rare that I see anyone not in my boat crappie fishing Texoma unless I go up to Widow Moore.

Unless you have very small feet that is a real good one.! Good picture too.

This morning was a bust. I didn't fish long. It was just cool enough to make my back hurt so I had to come home waaay to early to take a pill. I would have stayed with it longer but not having a fishing partner I can't take any chances. Being as I have hundreds of fish pictures I will post a legacy pick of one of my buddies.
