I have found that the few people that crappie fish on Texoma are very tight lipped about it. To date I know 4 people that are what I would call good at it and none of them share information about it. I would consider some one good at it as someone that can catch crappie at least 8 months of the year. I am still side lined for a minimum of 3 more weeks so I can't post anything about it. I do know that crappie are currently being caught on Texoma at several locations. If you follow standard late winter / early spring patterns they should not be hard to find.

Hey crappie wrangler I think we meet once at widow Moore and once at Johnson creek you the one that makes the rods I going to newberry tomorrow they should be some staging on brush piles by now.
You are right on both accounts. If I remember right we wore them out at Widow Moore. I saw the Dr today and he removed the staples and it will be 4 more weeks before I can even start rehab. I guess it's a good thing I can catch them in the summer. PM me and let me know how the fishing was.
Went to newberry today water temp. Was 61 this morning and by 4 o'clock it was 67 only caught 8 but they were good ones all females in 12 to 15 ft on brush piles orange and chart jig.
8 early crappie is a good trip.
Cabin fever is about to get the best of me, specially when I keep hearing of fish being caught. I paint jig heads and make lures even building a fishing rod for my pastor a St Croix SCIII 3S70ULF but I am still stuck here at the house. I am not allowed to drive for a few weeks yet so even though I only live 1 mile from the water I still can't get there. All I can do is harass people on line and wish I was fishing. The up side is I am a little more mobile every day. Even walking with out a cane. I want to thank those that have called and text. I mostly use a 1.75" tube jig for crappie but have noticed many that post mention using 3" jigs. Maybe I could get some input on brands and lure type on these 3" jigs from some of you. As is my custom I will leave a pic from the archives. I can hardly wait till I leave a pic from a current fishing trip.

We fished the north end last week with my grandson. The crappie are starting to bite around the docks.. Largest was 15 1/2" . Red and chartreuse minnow tube worked well. It will be getting better in the weeks to come.
I really like Franks baits. My favorite styles are Mo Magic in 3inch and stingers. Toughest bait I know of. Put them on a Timmy Tom weedless jig and you can catch 100 fish on it. G-Daddy Baits
