I've heard some were being caught at the north dike. I doubt you can get a boat there, but I haven't been there in a couple of yrs.
I assume you are talking Newman Creek? I have no problem using minnows or jig tipped minnows, if that is what it takes! I fish jigs 99% of the time. We need to meet up someday soon.

I believe you are right on the money. In fact, I'm heading down to Cedar Creek Lake on Monday to try it a couple of days to see if I can change my luck! But, looks like it's going to rain again the first of next week, probably slowing the spawn down once again. I'm just wondering what happens if the females just discharge their eggs in open water or if they start to internally digest the eggs and we end up with no spawn? Not sure anything stops them from spawing but, that question has had me wondering.

I was fishing Little Glasses. I usually fish with jigs, but will use minnows when needed. Yes, we do need to meet up soon. With the warmer weather, I hope to be at the lake more and will plan on giving you a call.

Very good news. We put in at Little Glasses a lot and have wondered if the docks might hold some crappie. You can call me anytime but, I'm going to be gone Monday thru Wednesday this coming week. 817-729-7865

My DSL line was down since Monday so just now saw this.
So, how did you do Wednesday? I know it has been tough all spring.

Went out yesterday out of Newberry. Had my son in law with me and he doesn't have patience to search for crappie so I found him some stripers in Big Glasses.
i did manage to search the shallows for Crappie but could not find anything. Wind was a little problem in speed control.
Water temp was from 62 to 64 in coves so something has to happen soon.

Ddubya, I too was out there and nada. Temps were as you said. Too windy in my opinion. What kind of boat were you in? We might have ran in to you. Saw a boat throwing a net in Newberry and it was the only boat we ran into. Ran to Glasses and lithe glasses as well and the main body was pretty wavy, lol. I had my son in law with me as well.
