Cc, Congratulations on your fish and your 1000th post. Happy! Happy! Happy!
Hey crappie cilller if you will monitor ground temperatures you will notice by late afternoon the temp will warm up to almost mid 50 when that happens we start catching males in the rocks. My thought on this is they are up there more for suntanning than anything.

Man you guys are killing me, I'm in Wheeler, Texas right now and test Monday for a job here. As soon as I can get home on a weekend I'm gonna try it. Bob I haven't been home so I have no idea when we can hook up and play on the boats. Keep all the reports coming! It's hard but I love to hear how the lakes doing.
Sonny Boy and I hit Newberry one day last week and got skunked. Met some other guys that were having the same results. Yesterday, Sonny Boy and I tried Butcherpen. Didn't get out till about 11am caught two after two hours on the lake and called it quits. I keep saying 'next week', 'next week' over and over and it's getting boring! Here we are on the 22nd and it still looks to be at least another week. Keep getting rain every other day it seems and below normal temps to boot.
But, it's just a matter of time. Jr, just let me know when you'll be available and we'll get your boat setup, it won't take long and the shop is open!

I have my boat at home doing yearly maintenience but plan to put it back on the lift in Newberry this week. Looking forward to some crappie in my fryer. I will post if I find some slabs.
When I fished Texoma about 10 years ago my go to jig color was pumpkin seed. Anyone have any other suggestions?
