I admit I was thinking about buying a place down there as I was driving through this last time. I tried Merle, maybe next time LOL. I have tried most of those spots, unfortunately the wind has never let me get after some of them seriously. Your northern most arrow on the fish attractor needs help, not much left to those piles. The ones down by the dam can be good, but mostly smaller fish, they are easy to reach from the launch and they get picked over pretty good. I have tried that timber with mixed results, I think those coves in there will be dynamite in the spring spawn, they protected from north and south winds they have deep water nearby and shallow sunny bays full of timber.

Back at it today. Caught one of my biggest crappie ever. 2.42 LBS. Fish were deeper than the last trip. I found them from 12 to 21 feet deep but mostly around 18. The water temp is dropping so fast it has them spread out at a lot of depths. Parts of the lake were 62 other parts were 67. Temp kept dropped thru the day. Caught probably 30 fish, had to work for them a bit. Not all the fish were biting. I found a lot of schools off ledges that wouldn't touch it. It seemed that every third or fourth school of fish I found would bite, so I moved around a lot to find willing fish. Black and Chart 3" slab slayers were the best producers by far today. The water is a little off color for Sardis due to the recent rains, about 12" Vis. Name: IMG_20141101_165805.jpg

It was the setting sun that put that gold cast on the fish. The phone camera auto adjusted and took the gold out a second later for the second pic. I don't know why it does that but I see it a lot on this phone.

Fished yesterday for 6 hours. Forecasters dropped the ball big time, it was much colder and windier than they forecast. Its time to ignore what they say and double up for warmth. Fishing was slow, water was 51-52, vis 16". Caught a bunch of dinks and 2 nice ones. No thumps, they would just hang on the bait.

Wow 4.42 is a hog for this time of year!
Spoke to a buddy that fished Ceder Creek Lake in E Tx, this morning. They caught 12 real nice keepers yesterday morning.
