Another great picture Fishers! Looks like we have the same boat. I am impressed you get it out in big waves occasionally. I like how you included the locator in the photo as well.

Size: 27.6 KB Fished yesterday from 8 am to 7 pm. The wind was awful, the rain was heavy and the hail large... but the fishing was awesome! Caught over 50 fish between 1 and 1 1/2 Lbs. No monsters but great average size yesterday. I fished 15 foot channel edges that had wood, either standing timber or laydowns that came up to or higher than 10 feet deep. The fish were hanging on the wood or just above it at 8-10 feet deep. With all the timber at Sardis it can be frustrating knowing were to start or to keep fishing the wood when you are hitting it hard and not getting bit. There is just so much cover it can be overwhelming. My first couple spots I hit didn't pan out so I just started motoring along and scanning the channel. Every 300 hundred yards or so I was seeing schools of small crappie in the middle of the channel at 15-20 feet deep, I would drop my jigs and catch a few 5-7 inchers. I didn't want to catch those anymore, so at one spot I started to work to the side of the school along the channel edge and connected on a big fish, then another, then another. So I had a pattern. For some reason unknown to me, the fish would congregate in a 50-100 yard long section and then the channel would be void of fish for 300 yards or so then another bunch of fish and so it went for about a mile and a half. I wasted some time initially fishing unproductive water, but once I caught on it was over for them fish. I would motor till I saw the small fish schools then ignore them and fish the wood on the edge of the channel. Bang, bang, bang. It was nice of those little guys to give up the location of their older brethren!

Fishers I'm heading off to bed here on the other side of the world and I really hope I dream about fishing on Sardis. Another really entertaining post. Thanks for making the effort. One thing that sets you apart from these part timers is that you seem to go early and stay late. I just hate leaving the lake when I can still see what color jig I'm putting on!

Great job, Fishers! You have figured the Sardis fish out better than I ever did. It's a lovely setting down there. I hope to make it in November for a day or so.
