LOL didn't hear about it until afterwards. Winds that day though don't know if it would have been creeping. Lake was stupid windy everywhere except one place and the crappy weren't there.

Buddy of mine that has recently moved back to Stillwater informed me that there's no where to get minnows! Remembering post on here about the fishing dock being productive, I thought I'd check on here. Looks like the info on CB has stopped. Anyone know where he can get minnows in the area around CB or Sooner? Thanks for any info, it's very much appreciated. B49
Everyone has a secret talent they didn't know about until tequila.
Boat49, you can let him know of a bait shop in Perkins that may have some. I dont buy minnows so not sure if he has them thru the winter or not but it is a very nice bait shop and the owners are very nice people. Its RC Bait and Tackle just east of perkins. 405-880-5522 and also he is not set up to for credit cards so its cash only.
Great looking fish. Thanks for the pics.
boat49,
I just got back from Montana and saw your post. We get minnows from the little store on Seward Road (south of Guthrie), just west of I-35.
swollencrappie, tell me again how that "point the nose into the wind" works ......... Remember the old boat days, i'm thinking two wind socks an anchor, then add a prayer.
I was up there this Tuesday, only had 6 ... 10.5"-11.5" crappie out of 20 .. looks like a good number of 6-9" fish in the lake. Caught 3 pretty good Hybrids by accident my drag was not set for those babies. Hope to see you up that way soon. dj
Glad you got out on the lake rdjj71m!!! It is a tough lake when the wind is blowing, not many areas to hide, especially if out of the north and being in a aluminum boat is not helping at all either. If the dang wind will lay down on my days off I will go try my luck. I had a friend fish it this last week and he sent me pictures of some large schools of crappie he had found, but he had to catch several smaller fish before he could get his 37 fish limit of 10"+ fish. Not sure how long he was out there to get his limit. I am sure a while.
Them Hybrids are a lot of fun and there is a bunch of them in there. I always carry a rod rigged up with braid and baits just for them in case I pass over a nice school of them or crappie fishing is slow.

The son-in-law nailed 'em Saturday and kept 14 nice fish up to 13.5 ins. Tonight, not so much. Five of us got a total of two hits. Good to be back from Montana, although trout fishing was exceptional.
