Went out yesterday before the storms. Told my wife I was gonna kill them with the weather moving in. Yep I killed them caught 2 in 3 hours but did manage to get drowned. Crappie fishin right now reminds me of trying to kill a big buck right before the rut starts and they go nocturnal. Fish are scattered everywhere caught 1 in 18 FOW and 1 in 8 FOW. Water temp holding around 55 deg. on the north end. Need some good weather for a few days and no wind.

Fished in the wind today. Ended up with 10 big jet black males 1.3 to 1.7 lbs. Water temp was 63.5 is afternoon. Caught all the fish in 5 to 8 FOW on 3 in black / chart tube.

Tough fishing right now. North end of the lake is really stirred up and muddy due to the high winds plus the water level has dropped almost a foot the last week. Water temp was 63.5 back in coves but bite wasn't there. Saw a lot of boats moving around yesterday trying to find fish. Some males had moved into coves before the lake level fell but were not there yesterday. Tried points and drop off's had 4 bites all day. Maybe somebody found them but we didn't.

Fished yesterday evening before the storms ended up with 18 males from .75 to 1.4 lbs. Water temp was 63 deg in coves ad murky. Caught all the fish on jigs tipped with minnows on a slip cork at 1 ft. Lake is down almost 2 ft from last year a this time. Got a good rain last night so the lake is coming up. Level was 1009.75 yesterday morning and is 10.10 today so this will help.

Dennis the east wind really killed the bite shallow yesterday. Ended up with 15 smaller males about 1/2 lb a piece. The bite was not real aggressive like you would expect from males shallow. Big males didn't bite at all. Had to stick it in front of their face and leave it for a while before they would take it. Missed a lot of fish that were just bumping it out of the way. Water temp is perfect and lake level is steady it should get better as the week goes and we get the south wind back.
