There was a guide that got busted catching hybrids and Sand Bass at Sooner 10 years or so ago. He was filling clients ice chests with fillets, and then going back out and filling the freezers of restaurants in Stillwater. Couple of guys I worked with at Sooner Power Plant hired him to learn how to catch them. They felt real uncomfortable at the end of the day with the numbers they had caught. He included himself as fisherman even though he never wet a line to increase the number of fish the clients could take home.
He got busted finally after taking thousands of hybrids.

Yes. Continuous rains in Ks has got the entire lake muddy. I cross the river below the dam several times a day. Its still silt laden today.
The fish are still eating though. One just has to change the way you fish dirty water vs clear water. Vibration and scent in muddy water.

Did a long-long time ago. Don't remember having much success, but it could have just been a bad day.

Lake is murky south of Sarge but not muddy. Kansas did get more rain last night so don't know how that will affect it. Talked to local Game Ranger yesterday and he said if the millet planting was successful, which he didn't think it was, they will bring the lake up 1 inch per week until the end of September so it may be down for awhile. Didn't get to spider rig yesterday but headed out this morning. Did talk to some guys fishing yesterday and they recently caught some nice fish at 8 ft. Water temp is running in the upper 70s in the mornings. Hope the weather holds off long enough today to try a few different locations. Gonna run 5 poles with jigs tipped with minners

Spider rigged 5 rods in 10 to 13 FOW and killed them. Caught some big fish. Running double jigs tipped with minnows with 1 ounce weight. Fish were 8 to 10 ft deep. Biggest fish was 15 1/2 inches. Fish were holding over brush. Used 12 ft stinger and crappie hunter rods. Could have caught a limit if the weather would have cooperated.

Went back yesterday evening and ended up with 23 nice fish. Had a couple pushing 15 inches. Fish were suspended over the top of brush in 10 to 12 fow about 7 ft deep. Used jigs tipped with shiners. Water is murky but is clearing up. Should just get better.
