Kaw is rising like a rocket. Its gone from 1014.9 at midnight to 1017.54 at 8pm.
They are dumping the lake at the dam. Don't know how many gates are open, but when I crossed the river bridge an hour ago it was bank full.

Lake is up almost 9 ft now and rising. Inflow is down to about 32,000 cf from 50,000 yesterday and they are releasing 25,000 cf. Kansas got more rain last night that will probably hit this evening. So much debris around coon creek looks like you could walk across it. Just backed my boat in shop for the weekend. Not worth it. Gonna be a miracle if no one gets hurt or worse up here this weekend.

Crossed the Arkansas river below the dam in Ok, and above the dam in Wichita today. The river and all its feeder streams are running bank full. This high water isn't going anywhere quick. Keystone sure getting a good stocking.

Getting the crappie ready for our annual Memorial weekend fish fry tonight. Usually have between 80 to 100 show up so we cook around 5 gallons of fillets. Amazing how you don't see most of them all year until the crappie hits the hot grease.

It never ceases to amaze me how the coon creek boat ramp is such a magnet for silt and Debris. It just got cleaned up and here it goes again.

If they would have put it out east of that little cove out on that point this would never happen. Plenty of room for a double ramp and parking out there. Why they stuck it back in the cove where all the debris collects is beyond me. It has silted in so bad if the lake get's below 1009 you hit bottom in a boat of any size.
