Take a man hunting or fishing for a day he'll eat for a day.
Teach a man to hunt or fish and he'll eat for a lifetime.Thumbs Up
Is there still a buoy on that big rock pile? It seems to come and go and I'm heading that way with my grandsons this week to chase sand bass. Tho maybe the lake level is high enuf that it doesn't matter.
Don't think there is a buoy there now. It is more than one rock pile. It is a very shallow gravel flat extending out West from the boat ramp and there are several large rocks. Go slow, watch your locator and enter and exit the cove from the South. That whole East bank of the lake all the way down South to the long point at the lodge is shallow with lots of hazards and also lots of fish.

The fishing was pretty good this evening at Gibson. Salt pepper pearl was the best color. Didn't keep them probably caught 40 or so from 1:00-7:00. Didn't keep any though, didn't have any big fish either just .70-.90s mostly blacks. Water vis was 1-2ft. EB
What end were you targeting?
South end Nip
Prefished Gibson today. It was hot...I mean the weather was hot, not the fishing. Thanks to EB this morning for your help launching my boat (almost had to back the truck all the way into the water to get the boat off the trailer). The water seems to be down a long ways (and it's as clear as I've seen it). A lot of the places I like to fish up the river were only in about 3-4 feet of water. They are normally in 6-10 feet. Needless to say, the fish weren't there. I caught a four or five fish up in the river, but nothing very impressive (see pics). Then, the river current became a lot stronger, so I headed back down towards Clear Creek. I ended up catching 20 today. Of the 20, 16 were 10" or bigger. But, they were skinny, and nothing more than 12". The most effective methods were using minnows (drop shot), and casting and dragging either a clear/white/silver Beaver Bottom (1/4 oz jig head), and a 1/8 oz jig with a 3" Muddy Water Bait (Monkey Milk with blue and red sparkles). I also caught several dead sticking submerged trees with a black and chart Beaver Bottom. I'm looking forward to Saturday's tournament. I'm going to start praying to see if heaven can point me to a few bigger fish
Attached: a nice screen shot of a submerged tree with lots of little fish all over it.
