Got on the lake about 5 today we were catching tons of small fish! Trash fish also, never did get on any keeper crappie. However it was a terrific day to just be on the water. Water is really low so be careful if your going out!!!

Redge where did you put in at. With the lake being 7 1/2' low I know from past experiences that you can't put in just anywhere..Thought I might give the killer a try in the next few days and didn't want to run around looking for a ramp that wans't closed.....Ranger

Good point Mark, Elk creek closed, Cherokee put in at your own risk. We put in at Cookson 1 side of the ramp is still operational.

Was able to finally find a boat ramp with water over it to unload my boat today. Ok here are the ramps open that I saw trailors at..Petit South, Sizemore East, both Cookson Ramps, and Six Shooter..Unload at your own risk though cause some said you will fall off the ramps at some of those places. I unloaded at Sizemore East ramp. Caught like 50 to 75 crappie today on the Killer and not a fish any farhter down the lake than Pettit not that I didn't try though. I fished as far down as Snake Creek not even getting a bump and stuff from deep trees to shallow brush in 6'. 12' to 14' was the depth today and its hard to find structure in that depth water since the lake is down 9'. All my normal 14' stuff is sticking out of the water. WT was 76 degrees all day and water clarity was 2' to 3' deep. Ended up with 11 keeper fish out of all the fish caught. There is going to be a bumper crop of fish next year since I caught so many in the 8" to 9" length. If you ever wanted to know where all the shallow tree tops are nows your chance to go and mark em cause alot of them as sticking out of the water. Becareful though cause it can be dangerous in spots......Ranger

Had to work for them but it was a pretty good day, and yes the fish at the bottom of the pic is over 10". Most were very shallow and on wood. Caught on B. Garlands.

Who knows they may be gone tomorrow. Lol. I know it was odd watching them flash on a bait in that shallow of water.
