Thanks for the information!!! What line do you prefer to use on Tenkiller?
Hadn't been down there either but hear as you have its bad.
Now about a better subject..CRAPPIE FISHIN..Upper end above Battleship is so muddy you can walk across it. Caught several crappie starting around goat island, then around the use to be sunken island south of goat island, down to Sizemore. Had 14 total keeper crappie today and was shy of my limit but that was my fault. Had 4 come off lifting them into the boat. The bite was very lite and when I say that you had better have some kind of high vis line on cause all you would see would be a flick of the line or feel like you had contacted a leaf floating in the water. The mud line is slowly making it down the lake and when I left it was even with Goat Island and headed south. Baits of choice today was the blk/chart super tube and the black/pink bobby garland. Most crappie were caught vertical jigging in the thickest part of the woodpile and right on the bottom. Had 8 throwbacks also. Early in the morning and in the fog caught fish as shallow as 12' but as the day went along they moved out into 18' to 25' brush. WT was 60.7 when I started in the clear water and got up to 62.1 before leaving. The new water is in the high 50's and got colder the further I went up the lake....Ranger

Right now Redge I am using vicious line in hi vis yellow..4lb..using a high strength line on tenkiller and getting hung up in the woodpiles causes you to disturb the pile and spooking fish. Have tested this several times and thats the way I see it. Was told about Vicious Line and have just started tring it and found its very low on memory, has a high tensil strength, and casts are long. I'm sure you ask others and they all have a line of choice....I tried Izonline and researched it online and found it to be a high thought of line. My thoughts on it was its very slick and casts line a bullet, has low memory, but as soon as it get a fray on it from the brush its breaks very easily. So if you are not going to fish any type of structure it works well......Ranger

Thanks for the input. I have always preferred the 4# line but always seem to have trouble with memory on it. I agree about disturbing the brush. I always fish structure so I think I will try some of the Vicious line.
I'm getting ready to try the Vicious Pan Fish line also. I know Cabelas has it, I wonder if BPS has it? I'm a die hard Trilene guy but they don't have a 4# hi Vis line that I know of??? Hey Ranger are you using a leader? Tenkiller gets pretty clear down lake sometimes??? I know others that use Mr. Crappie hi vis without a leader and seem to do well.

Nope no leader. Mr Crappie I used for several years but was never happy with it do to memory. After it was on the spool for a few days had to drag it behind the boat for about a 1/2 mile to get the kinks out of it. But I couldn't find another Hi Vis I liked until now..I am sold after using it yesterday and I also tried the 6lb too..works gr8 in the trees. I ordered mine from the Vicious website for $9.99 a 1/2lb spool which was 2960yds for the 4lb and donr get me lyin about the 6lb....Ranger

Many miles the Ole Champ has idled around, spinning rod hanging off the side dragging line. Thanks

Unloaded at Petit Bay this morning at 8:40am and caught my first 4 crappie before hitting the mouth. Fished up the lake from there all the way above Dry Creek. Fish caught were in 18' to 25' woodpiles some from the tops and some right off the bottom, there really wasn't a true pattern. It seemed like they spooked out of the tops and went deep into the wood. Finished up with 14 really good fish not having to measure a single fish. Had 9 throwbacks aslo. Bait of choice today seemed to be red/chart and blk/chart super tubes. Tried most of the baits in the box and those 2 produced the best. Water temps were in Petit 47.6 degrees and in the main lake channel it was 49.2 degrees. Up in the river it got up to 49.9 degrees. The river clarity was really clear and off colored the further down the lake toward Petit as you fished....Ranger

Unloaded at Petit again this morning only catching 1 keeper in the bay area and a few dinks. Fished trees in the mouth and down towards Carlisle Cove area only catching a keeper here and one there. Headed up the lake around 11 and finished up with 14 keepers. Had alot of dinks today which I didnt have the last time I was on the lake. There was one plus though, built a woodpile that needed sweeting for sometime now. Never caught a crappie past the point at Cherokee Landing and I am going to say its due to the off colored water. Water temps were in the low 50's at Petit and got down to 48 degrees up at Cherokee Landing area.....Ranger
