Took the wife out on Saturday. We caught a ton of fish. We actually kept 24, which is the most I think I've ever kept at T-Bird. We don't keep them under 11 inches or so usually. They were doing well on Cajun cricket, Black and Pink, and red and chartreuse. All of them between 6 and 13 FOW on brush. They still aren't on the banks yet, but theyre moving in super close. Went back Sunday and they were much less agressive. Great weekend!

I spend several hours at T-Bird today nosing around just to let the crappie know I was back. The water temperature at the surface around Little River Marina dock was 68.3 and it was 68.5 at the Calypso Cove marina. Monday the fish were still in the channels at both marinas and were around lots of them around the water pick up station. Today I didn't see any in the channels and none in shallow water. I checked out my top secret honey hole and nothing there but turtles.

I saw one bass fisherman and two pontoon boats with guys looking for crappie. They were catching them yesterday but were unable to find any today. I didn't make it to hog creek but the park rangers told me there were two people wading but he didn't see any fish.

I will be back out tomorrow around noon to do a more thorough search. I guess the casinos sent a bus to the lake and all the fish went to the casino for the buffet.
Endangering the crappie way of life in two different centuries.

Went out on Friday and caught between 30-40 crappie before noon. biting minnows and jigs in about 15-20 fow. Only about 8-10 were keepers but it sure was fun catching fish again. Also went for catfish in the afternoon and caught this 7 lb 25" fat (17" girth) blue. Looks like Spring is here.

The best time to fish is whenever you can.

I was out there Tuesday for a few of hours bank fishing for bass and dock fishing for crappie. The bite was slow. People at the docks said they were hitting earlier that morning but I rolled in too late. What was caught at the dock when I was there was dinks. Was going to tackle the lake this weekend by boat but due to weather that is push back until next weekend. Probably better that way.

I went out for a while yesterday. It was pretty difficult with the wind. I only saw two other boats so I had it all to myself for the most part lol. I caught between 30 - 40. Only 3 of them were keepers. The best bite I found was on brush from 9-15 feet. There was other brush close by, in a little bit deeper water, that I'm sure held more fish. Due to the hurricane force winds, though, I couldn't get to them. They were very tight to on the brush yesterday. My wife and I went out for a bit after the tornado on Friday and it was the same kind of report. Alot of folks catching a few dinks of the banks but the fish seem to be still holding out. Caught them all on jigs.

well i have fished t-bird the last few days and noticed mostly the crappies being caught were the male black crappies with frayed tail in 4' to 7' off the banks and not sure if the the lake has a larger black crappie population over white crappie. fished the hog creek boating area and caught a few keepers but a lot of small dinks, gets kind of crowded with so many people fishing there. have been fishing at fisherman's point boating area were its not as crowded and catching alot of small black crappie dinks and a few saugeye and white bass too. the road to the clear bay were the south dam has been closed so haven't got the chance to fish there yet this year, not sure when they will open that back up. swung by the little axe boating area and fishing docks seems to be pretty good area but gets crowded but they are catching them so i figure maybe try to make it early sometime a get a spot to try and fish. anyone got any suggestions on area to try and fish from banks, i'm all open to listen and try don't know the lake that well but i'm learning it as i go

I tried fishing there about three weeks ago. Pissed me off all the closed lake access roads. Finally got in around Little Axe cove but too many people and ended up leaving after a bit.
