hey sooner I went out there thursday morning for a few hours and we caught a few small ones and one thirteen inch on the inside of the west bridge, east set of pilings. It was slow but it was fun using minnows fishing 4 to 5 foot deep the water is around 9 foot deep. It will be a few months before I get to go again so don't catch them all before I get back from Turkey in November.

I know what you mean, the last week or so I've gone outside to start to do something only to go right back inside and tell my self it can wait until cooler weather. I'm tired of the heat!! I AM going this evening though. Going to head that way after the 5 o'clock traffic. I'm thinking that will give me plenty of time to get set up before dark to try some night stalkn!

Got out and set up about 745. I put out 2 submersible lights and had them on just before dark. First catch of the evening was a sandy and I'm thinking, hmmm, this could be a good night. Well, I managed to boat 5 crappie, all 6-8'', had another 5 that let go of the minnow just as I got them to the surface. Nothing hit hard, 2 of the ones i boated were on when i was checking to see if i still had a minnow! no rod bending or any other signs that i had fish on. But, a nice night to be on the water, not hot but it was humid. Now to make the list of items I forgot and needed then its nap time! Water temp was 85 and I was tied to a tree in 15.5 fow and i untied to head back to the marina at about 115am....b49

FINALLY, the cool front made it!! Now the important stuff, if it does like they say and stays in the low to mid 80's the next few days, what will that do to the fishing?? I will have the opportunity to go Sun-Wed. I will be out there no matter what. I'm just curious as to what it may be like.

Finally got to sneak out for a few hours yesterday. The water temp has gone down to about 78 degrees. I probably caught between 15 and 20. Only one I would consider a keeper. They were all pretty skinny fish. Looks like the heat has taken it's toll on them as well I guess. I usually don't try minnows but decided to yesterday because I've had almost zero luck the last couple months with my jigs. They preferred the jigs yesterday. Caught em all on wood between a 7 and 22 feet of water. The excitement was when we hooked into what I'm sure was a huge catfish. My 10 foot outlaw rod with 10# test couldn't move him. I followed him around, pulling with steady pressure for about 30 minutes before he finally broke off. He didn't act like he ever even knew he was hooked. The water was 20 feet deep and I never got him above 16. DEPRESSING. Anyway, very nice evening to be out and I was very happy to feel a thump on the line. I was surprised at how much the water has gone down in the last month. I put in at the marina and backed off the end of the ramp. If you have a bigger boat, I wouldn't recommend that one.

sorry crop e man, cant help with the water clearity

gentry, where do you find timber in 22 feet of water right now with it being so low? the stuff i normally fish ranges from 15 to 20 at normal pool, right now most of it is less than 15.

rednecksooner you may have busted me lol. It wasn't actually brush at that depth. It was structure, just not wood. Tornado blew chunks out from the marina all over the place so if you find the bigger chunks of metal out there, some of them will hold some fish. They may not be the type you're looking for though lol. I would think there would be a string of tires out there somewhere but I haven't found any yet.

I've hunted around in the channel quite a bit up from the dam as there should be old structure in that but I haven't found it yet. Maybe its all decayed away?

Crop e man, I haven't been out in almost but the last time I was out, it was about as clear as Tbird gets. The only thing keeping the water stirred up is boat traffic. That's slowed down a lot now too.

Does anyone else have any reports yet? Water temp is back in the 70s, and with these little cold fronts and rain someone should be catching fish!
