Welcome to the site Okie405. I haven't fished T-Bird much the last two years. Just seems like the average size is down compared to what it use to be years back. I have plans of exploring it thoroughly now that I have a side finder to actually see what's under the water and possible brush dropping. I'll be in a 1248 Weldcraft jon boat. Holler if you see me.

Thank you for the coordinates. The volcano peak one I had a friend describing to me months back and had plans of getting out there and finding it. You simplified it for me.

Ill be out Saturday all day. I drive a Kenner 18 Center Console. Usually have a couple kids with me. I use this site for pre-planning to look for structure and bottom contours, some might find it helpful.

I've had great success at Willow Branch cove. Lots of submerged trees and some visible. It is the last cove on the East side of the lake on the North end. You might also check this website out:

Zoom into any lake you like and has good info.

I hit t-bird today from 7am to 4:30pm. Upon arrival at the boat ramp there was 4 dudes there crappie fishin. They had a fish basket full of crappie. Prolly bout 15 of them and they were big too. Said they caught them on minnows and jigs with nibblets. That got my hopes up. We hit just about every tree sticking out of the water in willow branch cove and ended up with 2 crappies and 3 white bass.

Was using tube jigs, hairy jigs, minnows, jigs with the straight tail and curly tail, crappie niblets and even one of those deep diving bendable minnows.

5 fish is better than no fish and the kids are already talking about and looking forward to next weekend's fishing trip so I guess mission accomplished.

Maybe eventually I'll get as good at as those dudes on the dock? Think I really need to get batteries for my trolling motor. Could be scaring them off when we motor up to places.

If anyone is lookin for shad they are thick just SW of the island about 200-250 yards. I mean clouds of them from 10ft down to the bottom.

Ps water warm enough to go swimming too. 70 in waste deep and 67 in deep.

Hit the lake for a few hours last night. Caught about a dozen or so with six good keepers and the rest just a little too small to keep. Also one 17" saugeye. I think I've caught that same one a hundred times!

Throwing jigs at the bank, fishing 3' to 6' deep on main lake points and shorelines. Water temps were around 69.

Was out again last night until weather drove us off the lake. Only fished an hour but caught six keepers along with a mixed bag of a few sandbass, one largemouth and one channel cat. Water temp 70. Fishing jigs alond shorelines in 3-6 ft of water. None of the fish had eggs so I am guessing they have mostly spawned but are still holding in the spawning areas.

Wind in the east, fish bite the least. Slow last night and the east wind was blowing in on the shoreline I wanted to fish. Picked 3 decent ones and another half dozen dinks. One cat and a few sandbass. Marked some fish (I'm assuming some were crappie) but they were holding tight to the bottom and not active. Wind made it hard to stay on them.
