Did some bank fishing this early this morning. Caught a couple 10-12 inchers back to back on chartreuse swimbaits at 6:30 am and that was about it. Got home and cleaned the fish before my girlfriend even knew I was gone You get out last week r7hunter?

WC. I went the S. side in the State Park due to strong winds. I didn't try the N. Side. I found water too shallow around the banks everywhere I went. Some guy ran me out of the end of the Marina area. I was outside the tires even. He said it was "closed until the 15th".
I may try the N. side of the lake this coming week.

Fished a few hours mid day on Thursday. Cleaned 9 over 10". They seemed scattered. Would catch a few within the first few minutes at a spot then nothing so had to move a lot. Anyone else have any better luck?

Fishing is just tough all around . There are small windows were you will catch them. Nothing like in years past. The same this spring as the last two. Cold front after cold front, ridiculous winds and then ridiculous rainfall. Only thing I miss from the drought days a few years back was the better spawns due to the more consistent weather. Maybe next week will be better than this week.

So true DrNip. I can remember in about 2005 r 2006 when the lake was like 10 feet low. at twin bridges there was no water except in the creek channel. and the spawn was the best I have ever experienced. Could go catch a limit in just a few hours and sometimes catch one on every cast. one day at the road bed on the NE side of the lake I decided to keep count of every fish I caught. I ended the day at 263 fish caught! (and released of course)

Oh yeah. A few years back when we had the back to back spring/summers that were almost all in the 100's I'd walk the rip rap on the dam or just hop in my friends boat just west of the water tower and catch em every cast. Lunkers too. I mean the rain is good but can it and the weather swings please hold off until June or so??? lol

Yes. I've slayed them in both areas during the spawn. Haven't here in years.

Caught a half dozen sandbass and largemouth this evening on live silversides about 3' under a bobber. It was actually pretty good action between 6:30 and 7:30. Couldn't find the crappie but it was nice to be catching anyway.
