Default where to go ...where to go

I am taking a vacation day on wed :D and am wanting to go some place other than east fork. i was thinking either action, paint creek or cowan. any one know where to get bait near any of these places, and if they are spawning anywhere? im pretty unfamiliar with each lake as far as those go. any info would be greatly appreicated! many of you know that i fished out of a small jon boat w/just a trolling motor, but recently i was able to get a new (to me) boat and my mobility has been greatly increased, so now im just looking for some new places to go, i have been to cowan as a kid but not to paint or action that i can remenber. they are all a little bit of a drive for me so i want to go knowing i can get bait, and not waste my time to bad. Crappiemax i still got notes on info you gave me on cowan so i know how how and where to start, thanks for that again. thanks for any info you all can give. hope you all have a very blessed week. God bless you and your family

Seems that some are still spawning at Acton (mostly the smaller ones). If you have the time and willpower you can get a decent mess of keepers 9"+. I am on vacation next week and hope to get there a couple times and see if I can find them in deeper water.

Read a post on another site that the DNR did a shock survey on Acton last week. Some crappie (2lb+), saugeye 26", and bass (5-6lbs) were shocked up. Also that the next "hot" thing coming for Acton will be the channel cat fishing.

Caesar Creek is another option. They have been holding 10'-15' deep (I believe they have already spawned). We got several 11"-13" fish last time there.

Please let us know how you do.

Thanks fellas, will let you know how it goes, hey Yates where you been? Haven't seen you on here a lot lately, but come to think of it I haven't been on here much as of late either. Have they spawned at eastfork yet? I haven't had much luck shallow at all. Have got some decent ones though but mainly deeper than 4 foot. Just wondering if I missed em shallow. Oh well thanks again guys. Hope you all have a great week, God bless!!

Lakes in west Central Ohio are producing (Indian, Loramie, St. Mary's). Nice fish but they are spread out. You also have to spend a little time to find where they are hanging out. Every time I have fished they are in a different location or on different cover.

I agree with Yates, go to Paint Creek unless you want numbers then Cowan is the place to be, you will catch hundreds but mostly dinks. I haven't been to Acton since the 70's so I can't comment about it. Paint Creek is a fun lake to fish, it's a little different than most lakes around here. I only get there once or twice a year but I like it.
They still haven't (all) spawned on EF. I caught lots last week with eggs.
Good luck where ever you go.

Hey Yates, I was wondering if you could teach Starvin how to use a net or know someone who could?
