Well it was cold and choppy out there got a couple little breaks of much appreciated sunshine but mostly it was snow and wind. We were sorta able to tuck out of the wind some but got blown off our anchor a couple times. Managed to locate some active fish in 6-10 fow caught around 50 crappie and a few redears couple ditch pickles in the mix as well. fishing the same presentation that’s been working so well. Kept 13 crappie and 2 redears. Water temp was down to 42.8. They weren’t on fire but the action was pretty good had to do some coaxing they wanted that jig popping and twerking like a Saturday night at the gentleman’s club! All in all it was a pretty decent day on the water.

Well maybe I shouldn’t have complained so much about the traces of snow yesterday. Now I’m looking out the window at a good dusting ! With cold temperatures and more snow in the forecast ugh. I’ll probably still chase fish somewhere today.... I really should stay home and get my boat ready but I’m waiting on my trailer to be fixed. Haven’t had my boat out once this year. luckily I’ve got a couple good friends that ain’t scared of the cold that have very kindly taken me out in theirs. Maybe I’ll try some wading today or I’ve got a little river tributary spot that never disappoints. Decisions decisions ;D . Either way I’ve gotta figure out a way to keep my hands warm usually I just use cheap thin brow gloves from the gas station . They work alright till they get wet. I froze my fingers off yesterday it was beyond unpleasant! Anyone have any suggestions for warm gloves that aren’t so thick? Thick ones keep ya warm but they are a pain in the butt to fish with.

You could try putting a pair of those disposable latex/nitrile gloves over a pair of jersey gloves. The latex/nitrile should give you a nice tight fitting glove and it will be waterproof. Good luck out there today.

It’s a bit nippy but hopefully the fish still wanna play! Headed to a little river tributary that doesn’t often disappoint.
