    Default NE Ohio crappie action.

Fished from 11:30-3:00 it’s was so cold I decided to bring my ice fishing heater I probably looked silly but I don’t care it worked! The fish were pretty aggressive in the little tributary I fished caught 17 crappie 8-12 inches majority of them were around 10inches. 20 perch and they were some Toads! Biggest was 13.5inches also caught a bunch of ditch pickles from little 6inchers up to about 3lbs ( LM Bass) I stopped counting them after 15 they were a nuisance lol. Got snowed on most of the time but I was sheltered from the winds where I was. All fish were caught on a gold number 6 thin wire hook and minnow under a float fishing 12inches to 4ft deep. I usually try and stay away from live bait but at this location it’s the best option lots of brush in the water in this spot it’s way cheaper to loose the cheap gold hooks than my jigs. My favorite little honey hole lived up to its reputation today. You never know what your gonna hook up with there I had a pike on looked about 20inches the fight wasn’t long before my 4lb broke but it was fun nonetheless! It was a very enjoyable few hours and I good change of pace from all the lake fishing I’ve been doing. All fish were released as I was in the mood to clean any fish today. Name: IMG_1366.jpg

Well it’s another very depressing morning out my window! About an inch of snow in my yard NE Ohio crappie action. it’s just sad NE Ohio crappie action.. I have plans to fish why my amigo Bigeyurk25 today not looking forward to being out in the cold again. But I’m not one to back out on fishing plans due to less than ideal conditions. Living in Ne Ohio it’s just part of the game. The fish still gotta eat every day. If I were to sit around waiting on fair weather I wouldn’t get to wet a line till may & I’d wind up a grumpy miserable couch fisherman watching bill dance reruns. Plus I know once the weather is nice I’ll be working way more than I’m fishing so I gotta get it in while I can. Hopefully we can put some lips on hooks today. Gonna have to find a spot out of the wind might be a return trip to my favorite tributary even to I’m not a fan of fishing the same location 2 days in a row but I know the fish are there and I know they will bite. This weather has gotta start cooperating soon or I’m gonna have to go to PA and kill a groundhog!NE Ohio crappie action.

Weather isn't any better down here in the SW corner of the state and the temps are similar. Woke up to a snow covered lawn the last 2 days...that was depressing. Water levels down this way are finally dropping a little but my local lake is still up 25' and all the ramps are still gated closed. Water color is improving a little so there's hope I guess.
The cold sucks but like you said it beats sitting around the house.
    Good luck out there.

Good to hear you water is getting a little better down that way! You know it’s bad when you guys have snow down there in March!
