Been out a few times in the late evening in DEEP water, and have done really well with Gators and Crappie...as you know I don't keep anything after the Spawn in the Spring and until the lake hits the 40's in the Fall....so they all went back for a cooler day!
Just before sunset, Pat and I have been doing well with the New Shad and Ghost Rainbow...After the shadows start bright colors rule...and at night the Black/Blue with a chart nibblet REALLY RULES.
Off Next week, but without a car...mine is in Cincy at Weapon-X for 2 weeks, getting a little bump in Horsepower!
Things will be Hectic with Dale playing Football, but hopefully I can find some more evenings to get out!

    Sorry Fritz
I'm booked until after High School Football season...I still haven't been out fishing yet!

So in all of their Wisdom, The ODNR has stocked Muskie in CJ. Muskie and Walleye will use the same areas of the lake, especially since there is no vegetation. Several People already have figured this out, and have been catching them both in the same area. Some are reporting their catches on FB.
One guy, who is a Walleye fisherman, has been killing all the Muskie he catches. He supposedly has been opening up their bellies and is finding small Walleye.
    Honestly...I'm torn on this!
Also have been told, that next year there will be no size or creel limit for Crappie at CJ.....you just have to laugh!!!!!!

Just wondering when the Muskie are flushed downstream with all the other fish when the Core of Engineers drops the lake IF ODR will then do something about how the lake is dropped. ( if they can )
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !

I'm calling bs on the finding walleye fingerlings in their bellies. Pure bs!!

Killing a fish because you don't like it is childish, like a 4 year old childish. Not to mention it's against the law. I hope he is bragging about it on FB. It will make it easier for the CO to catch him and fine him.

Well CG...knowing a muskies appetite, I can tell you that it happens...they are ambush predators that are opportunistic. LM bass are also a large Walleye predator.
It's really not hard to believe because I have found up to small 6" Walleye in Crappie bellies. I open up almost every Crappie and Walleye belly to see the secrets!
And if you know anything about me, I only fish with swimbaits, from 3 to 6 inches for my Crappie and Walleye fishing. The small Musky so far have been caught with big swimbaits and cranks...so yes, IMHO, it is surely plausible.
You sure don't seem to know alot about CJ...Every year you find hundreds upon hundreds of WB thrown up on the bank, or back in the woods by the creek...or Channels killed and on the bank...and areas where all the small dead crappie have floated, after being caught and the hooks ripped out.
Or all the 6lb Bass taken home to eat!
CJ is well known for the "Special People" that fish there! They do their own fish management however they see fit!
    Laws...that's a joke!

Hey Lowell, Glad to hear from you,I was starting to worry. My wife just mentioned it was "Columbus Day". and I got to thinking. You don't really hear too much BOUT COLMBUS DAY, why do we celeabrate it? Think about it, I mean really think about it... Why would Queen Issy, the queen of spain, give some drunken sailor three ships /with men and supplys, She wanted him out of town right now. And Ferdy went along with it. Think about it and in the meantime EAT MORE GOOSE..

Managed to get out and fish from about 5:30 PM until almost sundown, a friend caught 3 bullheads and a 10" crappie on the bottom, the old trusty "glo" floating head jigs scored 2, both bullheads..

Had to do an unexpected visit to the Dayton VA and left my appendix there this week. Am recovering nicely and hope to be back to work Monday...
