I am from southeastern Ohio. I fish Paint Creek Lake a lot. I am wanting to try some other lakes. Anyone suggest any fall crappie lakes in Ohio?

Are you looking for lakes in a particular part of the state? In Southwestern Ohio, you can go a little further and get to Rocky Fork. I don't know the lake very well but it is supposed to be a very good crappie lake according to state reports. Good size and numbers. A little further south and west is East Fork. Lots of crappie but size smaller the last few years.
We have not tried Rocky Fork but we would like to. Any idea where on the lake to fish for crappie. I'm very familiar with the lake because we ski and tube there, but we have not fished it yet for crappie.

Can't speak with much experience on lakes but the Fall bite on the river tributaries is normally pretty good. My favorite time of the year.
yes
I live around the Gallipolis pool. Ever have any luck in those parts?

Problem with your question is you say you are in SE Ohio. Nothing wrong with SE Ohio itself but most of the guys who get on here are from SW Ohio and N. Ky so most of us don't have a clue what's going on over there. SE Ohio covers a lot of ground going from N Ky, WV and maybe Pa on it's southern & eastern boundaries to maybe Hillsboro or Chillicothe on the western side. There is a whole lot of land over there where you could live.
Since you mentioned you fish Paint Creek I'll have to assume you are more in S Central Ohio. IMHO most all of Ohio lakes are pretty decent for crappie fishing so any waters you may be willing to drive to probably have a decent population of crappie in it.
It's hardly likely anyone is going to "spill the beans" on an open forum and especially to a new guy. Lot's of new guys only get on these forums looking to get some info. Once they get something they are gone until they need something else. They are only here to get what they can take. I can't promise anything but if ya stick around a while and keep posting and become part of the Ohio forums you will be amazed at how much info gets passed around on here via Private Messaging.
I see Rocky Fork mentioned. I've been fishing it more & more every year and it's a fun lake to fish with some decent fish in it. I won't say it's an easy lake but we generally do fair to good over there. As with all lakes and in any fishing knowing the lake is the key to catching fish. Only way to get any knowledge is from actual time on the water. My suggestion would be to pick a few areas to fish and spend some time on the water. After 3 or 4 trips and adding 3 or 4 new spots each time you go you'll have a good general idea of the lake. Each time you go fish some of the old spots but then add at least some more new water areas and before long you'll have enough knowledge to have a good working plan.
I see EF mentioned and as someone said it has a lot of small fish to wade through. From my house I can be on the water in less than 10 minutes at EF so I fish here a lot. From my house to Rocky Fork & Paint Creek it's about an hour. I find my self driving to RF & PC more and more each year if that tells you anything.
Also mentioned was the Ohio River creeks and again knowing them is the key to success.
Personally I like the challenge of fishing new water. I like seeing new stuff and trying new places
I hope this helps at least a little.
Good luck to you.
I actually live in Jackson, OH however we camp at Rocky Fork quite a bit. I just started crappie fishing last year as a man showed me how to troll for them on Paint Creek. I have 2 young sons that go with me and since we had success catching fish, we are all addicted to crappie fishing now. We are new and I'm just trying to learn all I can about it. We have only fished Paint Creek but I want to try other places. I appreciate the info. If anyone needs to know how we do it at Paint Creek message me and I will accept any pointers anyone can give me!
