    Default Central Ohio Newbie

    Greetings,

I joined the message boards to network with fellow addicts, I mean fellow anglers. I predominately fish Mansfield and Port Clinton areas. I would like to venture out this upcoming season and see what the rest of the state and possibly a few other states have to offer. If you are having any group outings or meet ups please include me on the correspondence lists. Thanks

Clear Fork is great in March and April just as the ice is melting. I believe they are considering lifting the size and number limit this year because the lake is overrun by 8" crappie. We had days where we caught hundreds of fish but only could keep 5 or 6

Not sure. Just a lot of rumors at this point. I live in Mansfield so I'm between both Clearfork and Charles Mill. Last year I spent my spring between Clear Fork and Knox Lake. From August til the freeze I'm at Charlesmill.

Charles Mill is one of the areas best Crappie lakes. I'm normally on my boat but once they drop the lake in November I fish from the bank. I grew up fishing CM and then moved to Illinois after college. People were telling me it was great for crappie and I didn't believe them. I'm a believer.

Let me know when you want to get out. One of my buddies went to CF on Sunday. Lots of bait in the water. Caught both crappie and perch but no keepers.
