Bassky, the fish kill had to have an impact because there were 1000's of dead crappie. That pic is one tiny little spot of a very large lake. Like basstracker76 said there are still crappie to be had. Only time will tell on the real impact to the fishery, who knows maybe it will help. I've seen your past posts and you have enough knowledge and experience to locate fish at EF for you and your grandson to have a good time.
If you're looking at going right now or this weekend the biggest problem you'll have is the rapidly falling water levels and the muddy water in the upper end. I was out yesterday for a while and I got some fish but the bite wasn't the wild crazy spring crappie bite we all look for. I suspect the falling water levels played a big part.
